EDIE, THE BREAKFAST FAIRY
Edie started on Johnny B's radio show as a parody of those characters on kid's shows of the 50's that were only there to add some kind of "learning" to the proceedings.
She quickly became a regular feature and appeared weekly on other morning radio shows coast-to-coast. The image above is from a high point in Edie's "career" when she had a guest spot on the "Johnny B on TV" show for NBC. Watch it in our TV Archives. Edie is performed impeccably by Anne Gunn and written by the entire gang. The rest of us took turns playing her specials guests, from daily breakfast foods like Mr. Sausage & Mr. Eggs to holiday favorites like Mr. Green Beer to topical news worthy foods like Mr. Chilean Grapes, and beyond, often as very stereotyped characters. Anne even introduces herself twice when Edie brings us Miss Bloody Mary & Miss Morning Sex. Enjoy these blasts from the past, and remember boys and girls... you are what you eat!
